Quinn painting

In the sand box at great grandpa's house

The car wash (or bubble wash as Quinn calls it) is scary so he always hides his eyes.

Practicing his soccer moves for Spring 3 year old soccer.

Quinn singing

Quinn's singing skills have improved, but trying to get him to sit still probably won't happen until he's 12!

Summer fun

Cleaning outside toys turned into this...

Its hard to believe summer is almost over. We have had a good summer with a lot of outside and pool time. Quinn is almost 2 & 1/2. Some of his new things are:

-he knows all of his colors, not just primary colors
-he can count to 10 in english and spanish
-he is really into saying things are at home or here. Pretty much any question I ask if he did something at school he'll respond with no, he did that at home.
-he all of a sudden has a Cincinnati accent...long A's when he says that and back. So far those are the only words we have noticed this with.

We finished up our home study for adoption #2 and should be officially on the waiting list by mid-August, waiting for a referral. We should receive a referral probably between Feb. & April.

Happy 4th of July!

Waiting for the fireworks to start

People were letting off little fireworks and Quinn was really clingy and kept saying he wanted to go home.

But, then the fireworks started and he LOVED them!

We were not sure if Quinn would like fireworks or be afraid of them. We really didn't know how it would go since about 9:45 he was really clingy and kept saying he wanted to go home. But, luckily once the fireworks started he loved them.

We hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July!

Busy weekend

Although Quinn was not 100% this weekend we had a busy weekend. He either had a virus or is getting molars. If it's molars we still can't see anything so maybe it was a virus. Last night he was finally back to himself...of course at the end of the holiday weekend! We went to the Asian Festival in Columbus on Saturday and to COSI (science museum) on Sunday. The weather is finally hot here. The pool in our subdivision opens this weekend so we're looking forward to pool days on weekends this summer. Here are some recent pictures of Quinn...

A new summer favorite...corn on the cob
and, something he didn't used to like but now loves...pickles

In other news, we had our 1st home study visit today. We have separate follow-up visits next week. We will then have a final visit back at our house. The HS should be done mid-July. Then, we wait wait wait for a referral. The baby should be 5 months old at referral (S Korea allows the babies to be available for domestic adoption up to 5 months). The time frame from HS to referral is 7-9 months. The time frame from referral to baby traveling home is 5-7 months. So, baby should be 10-12 months old at the time he or she comes home. I'll keep the blog updated with baby #2 updates!

Still dancin'...even in the car

Quinn still LOVES to dance, even in the car!

Something new...

One of Quinn's many new things is getting out of the car by himself. He also will no longer sit in a booster seat. We also recently moved him into another bedroom and into a full size bed...after he no longer wanted to sleep in his room in the toddler bed. He's such a big boy now (in mind, not in size!).

In other news, we finished our adoptiong paperwork and are now awaiting scheduling from our social worker for our homestudy appointments. Timeframe until baby comes home should be approx. 16-18 months....total guestimate from what we have heard so far. Maybe it won't be that long or maybe longer. We'll probably have a better idea once the homestudy is done. When asked if he wants a baby sister or baby brother Quinn always says "baby broder". We'll see!
