A few pictures from the past few weeks

Below are a few pictures from the past few weeks. Quinn is getting closer & closer to walking but not quite there yet. Today he walked across the room towards us twice. His teachers at daycare are working with him a lot on walking....they had him walk to me today when I picked him up.

He has 2 rubber balls and loves bouncing them & rolling them back and forth with us. These have become his new favorite toys. I realized this morning that I should hide them in the morning. He was pretty mad when I took the ball away from him this morning so we could leave!

He had his first boo-boo on Sunday and he cried a lot! He tried to lean on a plastic wagon to stand up and it popped up an hit him in the face. I'm sure it hurt and it scared him too. He has a bruise on his cheek under his right eye. I guess this could be considered his first black eye??

We switched him on Sunday to his big boy car seat. He really didn't notice. He's not yet 20 lbs but we still put it in forward facing. The doctor thought it would be OK. He's 18.5 lbs...on the scale at home. We'll see if he likes it better on our next long drive.

Quinn after his most recent haircut. The girl who cuts his hair put some product in it & spiked it up. He looked like a little stud, especially in his "ladies man" t-shirt! This was his 6th haircut...I think if he was a girl he would have long flowing black hair!

This is Quinn with a few friends (Chloe & Mia) this past weekend. He attended his first baby shower with me on Saturday. It was a long drive so we hung out with friends for a while before driving home.

Happy St. Patty's

Here are a few pictures of Quinn in his "I got your pot of gold right here" St. Patty's Day shirt. Below are also a few bathtub pictures from this week. Quinn likes taking baths but does not like it when it's time to get out!

1 year doctor appt.

Quinn had his 1 year doc appt on Tuesday. He's 17.5 lbs & 27 in long. So, bigger but still tiny for 1 year. He'll probably just always be small.

This weekend we are going to work on no more bottles during the day, no more formula & no more baby food. He's already been taking a sippy cut sometimes but he's not really interested. Of course, he's not real interested in drinking from a bottle either. I've been mixing whole milk with his formula since Tuesday & he hasn't even noticed. We've also already been giving him table food & he eats pretty much anything. So, I'm hoping this transition will be easy....we'll see! I'm still planning on giving him a bottle before bed for now. Daycare is planning to move him into the next class in June but won't unless he's off bottles while there.

He's doing really good at standing on his own. Still not walking but he'll take 3-4 steps before falling.

No new words but we're working on it. He needs some because he says "uh-oh" and "what's that (or waz that as he says)" about 150 times a day! He knows the sign for more, which is pretty cute to see. Daycare teaches the kids sign language. So far this is the only sign we think he knows. Of course, we don't know any so maybe he does know more. We've been trying to teach him body parts. He knows head...if I ask him where his head is he'll tap the side of his head. I've been trying to teach him where his nose is but he's still putting his hand over his eye when I ask...close enough I guess.

Wagon ride

Quinn got a wagon for his birthday & today we took him on his first wagon ride. He LOVED it!! We went up to the playground in our neighborhood. The slide was also a big hit.

Birthday Boy!

Quinn turned 1 on March 4th & we had his birthday party yesterday. He did a great job of smashing the cake, it was all over him and the floor. It was a great b-day for him....new toys, clothes, had a lot of sugar & stayed up way past his bedtime.!

Quinn now stands up by himself & will take about 3 steps before falling. He had his 5th haircut this past week. He turns 1 on Wednesday, March 4th so we had his 1 year pictures taken today. They turned out really good but we won't get them back until 3/12. He's still babbling constantly but isn't saying any new words. He's always saying uh-oh and what's that, which sounds more like wazthat. I'll post more pics after his birthday party!
