We found out some very exciting news last week! Usually adoptive parents do not travel to S Korea to bring home their baby. Instead, the agency has escorts travel over to bring the babies home. However, they are trying something new and are allowing adoptive parents to travel. So, I will be traveling to S Korea to bring Caden home!!!! Adam and Quinn will stay home. However, I won't be alone. I'll be with a group of others. It is a requirement to have 1 adult per child so there should be several of us.
It's actually a short trip. Well, the flight is not short but the time spent in S Korea is! We should only be there 3 nights. I will get to visit the orphanage (where Caden was his first few months), visit Korea Social Services, meet Caden and his foster mom. Caden will not be able to stay with me while I am there as the adoption will not be finalized in Korea. But, when we leave Korea he'll be with me on the plane.
This will be a much shorter trip than when we went to Vietnam, however, I'm still hoping to take a lot of pictures, sight-see, experience S Korea and buy a lot of things for Caden as he gets older. This was an opportunity we could not pass up. We have said all along that it was hard for us to not be able to travel. It was so nice to experience Vietnam and to have pictures and presents to give Quinn as he gets older. So, now we can have the same for Caden!
The other good news is that travel is soon! Our agency said travel will likely happen the 3rd or 4th week of February which is only a few weeks away! This is all definitely happening fast but we can't wait for Caden to be home and to be a family of 4! I've also already checked and the hotel has a 24 hour internet room so I can update the blog while I'm there.
I'll update the blog as I find out definite travel plans!
