We arrived in Hanoi @ 10 am on Sat. VN time, which is 10 pm Fri. Ohio time. We got to the hotel about noon, took showers & slept for about 6 hours. We have international calling cards but won't be calling anyone b/c we cannot figure out the phones. No pictures yet since we immediately went to sleep & its now dark here. Tonight we're heading out to a hotel restaurant for something to eat. Tomorrow morning we plan to venture out & will take some pictures to post.
We definitely had our first culture shock today on the drive from the airport to the hotel. There are mopeds EVERYWHERE! And, not just mopeds....mopeds w/ people carrying multiple items or a family of 3 on a moped. There are absolutely no rules on the road. I thought for sure our driver was going to hit someone.
